Administration jobs do exist, not just in London, but also beyond, in the provinces. However, the majority of administration jobs currently available are London based, simply because this is still the hub of economic activity in the UK.
So if you are looking for an administration job, then perhaps London should be your first port of call. Remember that working in London, in any capacity is a terrific way to see the best of city life. You will have access to the best bars, restaurants and theatres in the UK and you can have a terrific social life, since many people in London are footloose and fancy free!
The best way that you can gain a good London based job in administration is to sign up with a recruitment agency, preferably one that specialises in admin focussed jobs. They will be able to offer you a range of opportunities, some of which will be temporary, but others may be permanent. If you can try to be flexible about which positions you accept, since the more flexible you are, the greater the chance you will have of being successful in your quest for a job.
If you want to try an administration job beyond London, but are finding it hard to secure a position, even a temporary one, then think seriously about taking on a temping job in London, just to get your CV into shape and make sure that you seem keen to work and to apply yourself.
You may even find that once you start to temp in London, you really enjoy it and don’t actually want to move back, after all working in an administration job at a top London office can seem much more exciting and dynamic than working for a provincial company.
